Abstract
We have developed a shorter Macedonian version of Ryff’s six-dimensional Psychological WellBeing (PWB) Scale. The original 84-item scale was reduced to 42 items in the Pilot Study (N = 106). In the Main Study (N = 531), the scale’s structure, reliability, and validity were analyzed. Using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), the correlated six-factor model yielded the best goodness-of-fit indices and partially met the required criteria. Measurement invariance was tested between the Macedonian and Polish samples indicating partial evidence. All subscales demonstrated satisfactory internal consistencies and time stability. Validity was confirmed by significant correlations with self-esteem, resilience coping, and life satisfaction. The present studies have provided a 42-item version of the PWB scale and offer further opportunities for researching well-being across different cultural contexts.
